This photo shows the then governor, Morgan Bulkeley in the middle in a stove pipe hat, surrounded by fellow veterans of the Civil War. Gov. Bulkeley would go on to be the first president of baseball's National League. The G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic) held frequent meetings and this picture was taken to commemorate the 1890 gathering. The description of the photograph lists a Hungerford as one of the men in the line-up.
